Increasingly, conversations about climate and energy policy are becoming narrow and polarised. We are here to give you a clear view of the reality of climate and energy policies and what they mean for you.
We all want to see a cleaner and better environment for future generations, but if climate and energy policies are rushed and their costs and implications not fully thought through, they will almost certainly do more harm than good.
Key campaigning issues
For a balanced and open debate
Climate science and climate policies can only move forward if they can be freely and openly debated. We are concerned that a narrow ‘groupthink’ and cancel culture is limiting the discussion and preventing important issues and concerns being scrutinised. Net Zero Watch will be campaigning for more balanced and transparent scrutiny of climate science and policy research.
For viable solutions

For consistent climate and international policies
The inability of the international community to agree legally binding CO2 reduction targets shows that unilateral climate policies have failed. Net Zero Watch will argue for the development of alternative approaches that are politically realistic and economically feasible.
Board and director
Neil Record (Chairman) — Neil Record is Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs and Record plc. Educated at Balliol College, Oxford, Essex University and University College, London. He holds an MA in Philosophy and Psychology, and an MSc in Economics. He has worked in the Economic Intelligence Department of the Bank of England, and as an economist in industry. He is formerly a Visiting Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford, and currently Chairman of Nuffield College Fellows’ Remuneration Committee. He is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. He has authored one book (Currency Overlay, Wiley, 2003); several papers on the UK public sector pension system, and was runner-up in the Wolfson 2012 Economics Prize with an entry on the future of the Euro.
Edward Atkin CBE — Edward Atkin founded and created Avent in 1994, the world’s No 1 in Baby Feeding hardware. He is a multiple Queen’s Award winner — for Technology as well as Exports. Mr Atkin helped create what is now the Reuters Institute for Journalism at Oxford University and owns a research and development centre in Cambridge dealing in advanced transport technologies.
Martin Bralsford — Martin Bralsford is a Chartered Accountant. He is a former President of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce and a former chairman of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Dame Andrea Jenkyns MP — Andrea Jenkyns is the Conservative MP for Morley and Outwood, and has been an MP continuously since 7 May 2015. She was Parliamentary Under-Secretary in the Department for Education between 8 July 2022 – 27 October 2022 and an Assistant Whip 20 September 2021 – 8 July 2022.
